Jorgie Pendrous talks about Shifnal Ladies try out.

Jorgie Pendrous is just one of a number of new faces hoping to put pen to paper and join the Shifnal Ladies this upcoming season. We were lucky enough to catch up and ask Jorgie a few questions about how it feels to be trying out with the team.

The Young winger use to play for local rivals AFC Telford United Ladies.

How did it feel to be playing last Sunday?

Last Sunday wasn’t a great game for me, But every time I step onto a pitch there’s an overwhelming feeling that I don’t feel in any other situation.
It was great to get on the pitch again and have a ball at my feet after so long.

How do you feel the team spirit is at Shifnal Ladies?

The team spirit is great at Shifnal like a big family.
I’ve come in knowing about 3 people, but talking to so many people is something I’ve never really experienced coming into a new club, it’s great.
I love how everyone wants to win not just a few people but everyone and that may seem like tension to some people but it’s pure passion for the game from everyone there.

Tell us a little about yourself

I’m Jorgie, I'm 19, I’ve been playing football since I was 13.

I played at a local club, AFC Telford United from  2017 but left due to following my passion for Sports Journalism in university.

I go to Liverpool John Moore’s University where I’m coming to the end of my first year and going back to my old job as a Community Carer as I did in the first lockdown.

I hadn’t had much luck with football over the last year as I was in a new city so I hadn’t played since February 2020 but I wanted a new start and Shifnal seems like a good fit for me hopefully.

We would like to wish Jorgie luck for the upcoming season and her try outs.
